DigitalGemstones.com was first created as a place for me to display my artwork. Managing this site, along with a few other smaller projects, inspired me to learn more about how to build and run a strong website. As I learned more and more, my website began to evolve. First as a place to display some simple code snippets I'd written, and then later, to offer my services as a Webmaster and programmer. I have since stopped most of my freelance web development, and DigitalGemstones has changed yet again to be primarily my prescence in the web development and computer science community.

About Me

I am a 28 year old student at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, studying Computer Science and Philosophy. An odd combination perhaps, but it's what I enjoy.

Over the years I've taught myself everything I can about computers, the internet and web development. Learning as I go, I've accumulated the knowledge to build and maintain several websites and web-based projects - most notably SpotLight. In addition to teaching myself web development, I am studying Computer Science in school and participate in the annual ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest.
